Wow.

I can’t believe it - and all the revelations that will come out.

We know why - ONCE AGAIN - you cant trust people and they’re just in it for themselves and money.

No one writes a tell-all book about a famous celebrity that they had personal dealings with unless:
1.  They desperately want the attention their sibling/parent/child/employer/employee has/is getting (which is sick)
2.  They desperately need the money
3.  They have no shame

I hope none of us gets concerned when stars have employees sign contracts/agreements that state there is absolutely no discussion of their affairs in any way/shape/form of the goings on.

When you reach the point where your own mom is writing a tell-all-book, you know this is horrid.  And, the book publisher is also to blame here.  They just want the $$$$ and they find people like Britney’s mom to do it.

Why are people so desperate for attention?

Interesting question since I write this blog, do a radio show, and perpetually live my life like no one is looking. 

Violations of trust like this are forgiveable - 1 on 1 between the people involved - but, the relationship is never repairable.

Just my 2 cents.

You know - I’m kinda tired of these sayings “MAY”, “SHOULD”, “THINKS.”

I know there are others but, can the media stop being on both sides of the fence with these articles?  Have one article with a chart they put together and the link can say:

I think that would work better.

My rant is over. 

Let’s put this phrase in perspective in different connotations.

Barack O keeps saying, “Joe gets it.”

And doesnt really offer much more about the VP Selection and he says “John M doesn’t get it.”

Wow - that “gets it” seems to be a catch phrase…..so……Let’s put it to the test under some scenarios.

Man describing why he wants to marry his fiance:  She just gets it
Lawyer describing why a murderer should be set free:  He just gets it
Me going to my boss to explain why we should hire someone:  She just gets it
Jesus going to God to see if I’m worthy enought for heaven:  God - he just gets it.

Ommmmm.

I dont get it.

I woke up at 2 AM today. Not uncommon for a Sunday morning because at 230 AM there’s a show called DaVinci’s Inquest that’s on tv down here at that time. It’s a good show. Albeit, no longer on the air in Canada, but, that’s ok. Here it is.My daughter was with me and I have to share with you our conversation on Saturday night.

Pure.

Honest.

Humbling.

She talks about dead, death and dying - because of some tv and what other kids tell her too, but on this night, our conversation was adult-like. Adult-like to understand - as she did and she could sense some things from me also.

After reading our requisite stories, I told her that I would love her FOR - EV-ER.
My Girl: Well, what happens if you die Daddy?
Me: Like I said. I’ll Love you FOR EV ER.
I teared up. I didn’t cry with tears coming out of my eyes, but I did get tears in my eyes. You know….somehow your eyes hold in this big glob of teary-mess inside and your nose starts to give you that feeling of - well if your eyes are going to blow, I’m going to also.
She got teary eyed too - probably because I did.
My Girl: What happens when you die Daddy?
Me: Well - we go to live with God and Jesus.
My Girl: Is there enough room for both of us?
Me: There is always room at God’s home for us.

Hugs and kisses and it was time for her to go to sleep and me to sit and think about the exchange that we had.

Because.

I’ll be 40 next year.

I’m not in my 20s anymore or 30s per se and things are different.

Aside from the prostate and colon exams I’ll need regularly but, my body is different and I do need to exercise and get myself “in shape” if I plan on being around for the long haul.

MgN has it right for being healthier for when he turns 40 and I need to do that also.

And, I’ve been to a few 40th birthday parties and, they’re fun with a bunch of people but, hey….gotta tell you…..drinking like a fish or too much when you’re older….gotta tell you….not so good. Not something I enjoy doing…..or seeing for that matter.

And, I’ve decided to get a disc together and do a little tour if possible - hit a few places locally here in VA/DC and then Philadelphia, New York City and maybe Boston. We’ll see.

I’m pretty funny.

On a few different songs at one time.

1.  Rain
Has to do about rain, but the symbolism in the song is about what the rain is:
Food and nourishment for the grass and trees
A sign of baptism
To cleanse yourself from the pains of the past and present and move on

2.  Truth
I like this one because it’s actually about lies - but aspires for truth.
It starts off with
You’re lying feet walked up to me
You’re lies
It goes on but, you can tell what is going on with it

3.  Angel
This song is about a dad who is either a police officer or in the  military and has died in service to his fellow men/women/children but is reminding his family and kids that he’ll always be there.

This song is different in that there are sound fx at the beginning where you hear an answering machine and the dad leaves a msg on it and then you hear the sounds of the rifles like you hear at a funeral in Arlington National Cemetery.

It’s a bit repetitive and I’m working on it, but, I think it’s poignant.  We all want to our family’s to know that we’ll always be there for them.

The great thing about this is the reminder that our voices are instruments…..and, if you dont have a singing voice…..thats ok - it’s still an instrument.

Well.

It happened.

A part of my past - a very good part of my past - is gone.

I used to work at a restaurant called Steak and Ale and they filed Chapter 7 today and won’t be back - most likely.

I worked there from 1991-1995 and it was one of, if not, my best jobs ever.

I used to do crazy things:

-  I would re-write songs with new words
-  The people who worked their ranged from nice to very freaky
-  I organized a Christmas party at the local Knights of Columbus hall
-  I used to do this thing where I would offer people the choice between the MacBeth version of a sizzling steak or a Wizard of Oz version
-  I met Robin and Dan who invited me - gave me tickets to - the Renaissance Festival at Sterling Forest, NY
-  Countless meals that were discounted 50%
-  Countless friends came through the door and walked out the door too
-  Countless families and people who came into the restaurant who asked for me - and others who wanted nothing to do with me….but, all in all…..a great job.

I loved the job.  And, at the ripe old age of 25, I - and my knees - grew weary and realized it was time to call it a day.

So, I did.

Check out this article and note - somehow the restaurant lost their CEO.
