I wrote this letter to their Morning Show people – it has to do with journalists sensationalising the news and further proof that journalists are just as corruptible as baseball players with steroids.
Subject Bar: Your Piece On Steroids on The Early Show
————————————————————————-
Folks – here’s an example of sensationalizing the news.
On Kell-ee Co-bee-ello’s piece on steroids, there was a part where she brought up the info on the Internet and blogs about T R E N.
Her editors – and she – highlighted a passage from a blog that, if read was:
“made me feel like a monster in the gym.”
But, to hear Kelly Cobiello say the passage on air, she said:
“It made me feel like a monster.”
This is classic sensationalism
What she did here was try to sensationalize the issue of steroids and the side effect of “rage.”
Why do kids use Steroids?
To Get Bigger, Faster and Stronger – FAST. For an edge against their competition on their team and opposing teams.
Why do journalists sensationalize?
To get their names bigger, faster and stronger – FAST. For an edge against their competition on their team and opposing teams (in this case team = network(s))
Somehow, I’ve made a correlation between athletes and Steroids and “journalists” who sensationalize?
When reporting, why not consider the people who are blind and count on the spoken word for the news.
The only reason I’ve watched your show is because one of your show’s reporters is the sister of a friend of mine. But, I really get upset with this nonsense, so, I’m going to stop watching for awhile.
Good luck.
